My Story
I was diagnosed with non-hodgkins Lymphoma in early 2004. I owned a copy of Ian Gawler's book 'You Can Conquer Cancer' and although my diagnosis was shocking news, I clung on to the knowledge that there was "something else out there" that I could investigate to help myself. After a while I found Cancer Support WA and attended the support group on a regular basis. The support of this wonderful dedicated group of people was invaluable to me. I had many personal issues to deal with and the support, friendship and sharing of experiences with other cancer patients recharged my batteries and left me feeling empowered.
Six months later, when I had finished treatment, I attended a 10 day retreat at the Gawler Foundation in Victoria. It was one of the most profound experiences of my life; I came away with many practical ways that I could help myself. I regained control of my life and had the tools to help my body combat my cancer.
My thanks go out to Cancer Support WA for the magnificent job they do to help people dealing with cancer in their lives.
Please donate to this fundraiser and ensure that other people will continue to receive the help and support from this organisation.
